Dear subscribers,
At the beginning of the year I wrote a note outlining what to expect from Look, Stranger! This is an update on that update, as from this week, I will be writing here with a more regular rhythm.
For a full subscription, which is just £75 a year, you will get all of the following.
1. A weekly (no longer fortnightly) column on the politics of the day.
2. Other Echoes, a fortnightly notebook on all manner of things that occur to me.
3. A quarterly long read-style essay, the first of which will be on what, if anything, has been achieved in a decade and a half of Conservative government.
4. Speech Unspun, analysis of the speeches of the day as they come – and with US and UK elections on their way, there are going to be plenty of them this year.
5. A monthly essay, by Michael Henderson, each time on a different popular song.
The weekly essays will be for paid subscribers only, while the fortnightly notebook and monthly essay from contributors will be free to all comers. My first quarterly essay, a verdict on the Tory government, will be free as an example of what potential subscribers should expect but it may have to go behind the paywall thereafter. One final point. While Look, Stranger! already has contributors, I hope too in time that it could become a showcase for new writers and location for pieces that I will commission as editor-in-chief.
